Welcome to Hawley Meadows

This site showcases what the our Valley would have been like 100 years ago, with wet grasslands running along the river. It is an important flood defence in the winter but comes to life in the summer, with many rare plants providing rich hunting grounds for the pollinators!

The view from above

Hawley Meadows sits amongst the hustle and bustle of Valley life, sandwiched between road, rail, housing and industry, making it a real haven for wildlife and a great place to switch off and relax. You may not realise it as you drive past but its a big site, offering a variety of habitats.

Visiting Hawley Meadows

The site is broadly flat, with a mix of gravelled and seasonal grass footpaths.

In the winter the whole site becomes very wet and muddy so be sure to pack your wellies!

If you are wanting to reach Hawley Meadows on the train, Blackwater station is just 10/15 minutes away to the North of the site and if you are wanting a longer Rail to Rail walk, Farnborough North station is a 45 minute walk away, following the well signposted Blackwater Valley path. Why not start at one and return to your destination from the other or do the full loop here?

A car park is also available, opposite the Watchmoor Park turning on the A331, with a wooden bridge over the river connecting to the site. TO INCLUDE PHOTOS OF THE BRIDGE
